Captain Corelli's Cafe Restaurant in Agia Efimia overlooks the harbour where the many flotillas moor up during the summer months. It is centrally placed within the town and opens from early in the morning for breakfast and stays open all day and evening until the last diners are ready to leave, usually late evening or early the next morning!

The Cafe Restaurant also has a bar area where you can sit and enjoy a drink or coffee and a pastry or ice cream whilst taking in the atmosphere and watching the world pass by. It is also an ideal location to watch the yachts arrive and moor up for the night in the harbour.

The Restaurant offers an extensive menu which includes a number of traditional Greek dishes such as Moussakas and Pastichio. Also available are a good choice of salads, grilled meats, pizzas and pastas.

Captain Corelli's Restaurant has an interesting selection of wines on offer, including the most popular Greek wines, such as Rombola wines which are made on the island, close to the monastery of Saint Gerasimos, the Patron Saint of Kefalonia.

Captain Corelli's has another Cafe Bar located a few minutes from Agia Efimia, in the port town of Sami, about 10 minutes drive away.

"I hope I have included a part of Greece in my book", Louis de Bernier says about "Captain Corelli's Mandolin". It is a book which conquered not only England but also the rest of the world.

During the summer of 2000 this Cafe - Restaurant (Captain Corelli's) was the meeting place for all the important people that took part in the shooting of the film (Nicolas Cage, Penelope Cruz, John Hurt, John Tole, John Madden, Irene Papas and many others). They gave it the name "Captain Corelli's"
